The Inspiring Teacher Podcast with Danny Hauger

The Inspiring Teacher - Inspiring Friends Podcast with Danny Hauger

Danny Hauger, Inspiring Teachers Blog

I recently got to meet Danny Hauger on Zoom. This young man has a remarkably interesting skill set. He is an entrepreneur. Danny was born in Stockton, California.  (Hmm, California, that probably influenced what he is doing now.)

Musician

Danny let me know that he is a musician, so I googled his name. I found several of his songs on YouTube. He is an acoustic guitar Musician. I am adding a link to one of his recordings so that you can check out his music. Danny Hauger, Careless In My Sleep. I enjoyed listening to his music!

Podcast

Amongst his talents, he is a voiceover artist. Someone who does this uses their voice to portray a character in a television show, a feature film, animated short films, and video games. This is something he has done for 10 years. Well, Danny has taken this talent and created videos for his classroom students and posted them on, Danny Hauger YouTube Channel
You can also find Danny on Podbean.

The purpose of the podcast, Inspiring Teachers-Inspiring Friends,  is “to inspire teachers to explore the way of teaching and archive outstanding tips and tools for teachers to stay positive about their roles in increasing the future of societies’ leaders and young people.

I asked him, “Why start a podcast?”

Motivated by a desire not to lose his passion for teaching, he and another teacher, Tavis Beam, decided to share ideas, memories, and teachers from their past. They began to interview outstanding teachers from around the world. He invites teachers who had a special impact on his life; teachers who share valuable content on social media or make wonderful videos; as well as leading professors and best-selling authors.

Visit the Inspiring Teachers Podcast and listen to some of their fascinating podcasts!

I had the privilege to be interviewed by Danny and Tavis on their podcast, Inspiring Teachers. But . . . you’ll hear more about that in my next blog article.

Froggy About Teaching

I am going to give credit to Amped Up Learning. AUL is sponsoring these gentlemen in their podcast endeavors to highlight and promote teachers. Amazing!

Danny Hauger and Tavis Beem invited three Teacher Contributors from Amped Up Learning to be interviewed on the Podcast called Inspiring Teachers.

I will reveal a secret: Danny is a Teacher Contributor on Amped Up Learning. Sadly, I don't his store name. :(

The three of us were given the opportunity to talk about the current school situation and the type of products we are making in response to teachers' current needs. We also got to show off one of our products. This was my first opportunity to be in a podcast. I have to say that I really did enjoy it. Danny and Tavis made it a smooth experience. Here is the link to the Inspiring Teachers-Inspiring Friends podcast. Check us out!!

Homeschool Holiday

In 2018, Christy Serra Gandara began to create teacher resources.

Her store is Homeschool Holiday on Amped Up Learning.

Christy says, “I had always put my own twist on things, even way back in 1994 when I had my students map where the major league baseball teams were located on the first day of spring training.”

I totally agree with her, if you take a look at the different products she has in her store, you will feel like you are in a teacher candy store. Teachers, you will appreciate these candies because they have substance! She provides unique teaching resources based on daily calendar holidays. What fun!  Students would have fun and be engaged in their learning.

I took some screenshots of part of her store on Amped Up Learning.

There are so many teacher resources on Amped Up Learning. Come by and visit Homeschool Holiday and Froggy About Teaching.

Product Review: Nursery Rhyme Creative Play and Virtual World Traveler Activity Pack

Teacher Contributor - Christy Serra Gandara

At heart, Christy with Homeschool Holiday on Amped Up Learning is a Homeschool teacher! So that has been her focus as she has created her teaching resources. Her products have a purpose and are carefully thought out. Yes, her products can be used in the classroom! I am going to talk about 2 of her products which will help you see it's functionality in the classroom.

Nursery Rhyme Creative Play, (I am so glad I own this one!) can be used in a preschool, Pre-K, Kinder, and 1st grade classroom. It has the roles that kids can take to learn their part of the play. It includes puppets, which are adorable. The kids can make the puppets themselves. The puppets have been provided in different formats both in color and black and white. It can't be any easier for a teacher, everything that is needed to put on any of these plays has been provided.

Now she takes the students all around the world to different countries, Virtual World Traveler Activity Pack. The students start by making their passports. Then they get to virtually visit different countries and learn about them. The links to these virtual resources are provided in the document. What a great Social Studies project!

I am so happy to be a Teacher Contributor on Amped Up Learning. I will continue to host more Teacher Contributors on my blog and let you see the quality of their products.

I have one more article to share on my friend Christy. I shall return with more Homeschool Holiday!

To Wear A Mask or Not To Wear A Mask?

There is no question that this Pandemic has changed the way we do things. It has become essential to stay safe by social distancing, quarantining, and wearing a mask. Wearing a mask has met with quite a bit of resistance. It is uncomfortable to wear a mask! I would rather be uncomfortable in order to stay safe by wearing a mask. See what this scientist, Bill Nye, has to say about wearing a mask!

Christy Serra Gandara-Teacher Contributor on Amped Up Learning

So let me tell you a little bit more about Christy. Christy is a California teacher with 19 years of experience. She has taught in Catholic and public schools. She decided to home-school her children. Got to love her! That is a huge amount of work to raise your children and teach them! During this time, she became a curriculum coach and consultant for homeschool families. She returned to the classroom once she was done educating her own children. Christy has spent her teaching years mainly with 3rd grade through 5th grade.

I asked Christy why she became a teacher. You will enjoy reading her response.

“One afternoon, when I arrived to volunteer to teach for our Church’s
after school religion classes, the Nun that ran them, met me in the parking lot with a big box of teaching books, worksheets, etc.

She said she knew I wanted to be a teacher and I should have these for when I was ready. (At the time, I was in high school and dreaming of becoming a lawyer.) I had never said anything to this woman about becoming a teacher – but I wasn’t about to argue with a Nun! So, I politely took the box. I guess it was God’s way of planting the seed because I did change course along the way and have no regrets.”

Well, I'm glad she didn't become a lawyer! She was meant to be a teacher! Just take a look at this product she has made, Oreo Cookie Stacking Challenge. A friend of mine, 3rd-grade teacher,  bought this teacher resource from Christy's store, Homeschool Holiday. Anyway, I got a sneak-peak at it and I'm going to tell you about it.

It is very well organized! It is a project the students can do independently. There are task cards that tell the students what their jobs are in performing the challenge. There are graphic organizers so that students can make predictions, record the results, and analyze the data. This packet includes anchor charts that teachers can display for students to guide them with the mode, mean, median, and range. You will love the many tools that have been included in this packet for both the teacher and the student!

I have more to share about this Teacher-Contributor. Soon . . . very soon!

Christy Serra-Gandara, Homeschool Holiday

Christy Serra-Gandara is a Teacher Contributor for Amped Up Learning. Her store name is, Homeschool Holiday. She creates teacher resources for grade levels 3-5. She has an amazing assortment of fun, academic products!

When Christy's kids were old enough to go to school, she made the decision to homeschool them herself. You will love this story that she shared with me about the beginning of homeschooling her kids. She did not want her kids to call her ‘mom’ all day. It was awkward for her to have them call her ‘Mrs. Gandara’.

So . . . during their first week of school, the kids and Daddy brainstormed together and came up with a special teacher name just for the

Happy Hive (then the Gandara Bug Academy). - Mrs. Crabtree... the name comes from the teacher in the Little Rascals television show.  One year, her kids wanted to leave the Christmas tree standing, and they did just that. This inspired her! She came up with the idea to base their lessons on the holiday of the day.  She totally loved doing this! This story will help you to see the reason for the type of resources, she creates for teachers.

I have more to share with you about Christy and her store . . . Part 2 coming very soon!
